Guest Post: A Brother's View

As a brother, I've been through five different adoptions, going on six. Each time we adopt a new child, I later look back and can't imagine what it was like before we had them. With our first adoption, I went from being an only child at home, to having a big sister. With our second I became a big brother and we got to save Patience's life. Our third adoption gave me a brother at home, we've since become the closest of my siblings, we do almost everything together, and sometimes stay up late talking to each other. Then we got to adopt Abe. This adoption was unique because it was the first time I had traveled away with my parents to get our child. Then our newest adoption, Daniel, definitely changed our lives. Aside from spending lots of time at the hospital and going through the scary experiences of hearing my Mom had called the ambulance to come get him, he is also an extremely cute baby who loves to laugh and be played with (with 4 siblings at home, he gets plenty of attention). Now, as we prepare to adopt "Cole" who we have yet to decide a name for I am exited about what it will be like to have him in our home. I'm sure that one day I will look back and not be able to imagine what life was like before him.
