Criminal checks are in the mail...we're safe there....if you don't count speeding tickets. Certified marriage certificates received in today's mail and just trying to figure out how to get things apostilled. Physical appointments set and our social worker comes tomorrow morning. It feels good to be checking things off the adoption paperwork list.
I found a good site for HIV facts - It is from stats in the United Kingdom but the article had alot of good information in it. In particular I though the part I included below would be comforting to anyone who is perhaps nervous about their child playing with a child infected with HIV.
Having an infected child in school poses no risk to staff or
pupils. As stated before, there is no known case of an HIV
transmission occurring in a school in the United Kingdom.
No case has ever been recorded of HIV transmission from
child to child by biting, fighting, playing or any other normal
childhood interaction.

Also, another little sweetie with HIV needing a family. She's precious isn't she???

HIV+
She is described as being a calm girl. She does not have any siblings. Additional photos available. She is an interesting and positive girl. Sometimes she prefers to play by herself. She is happy to communicate and interact with her nannies.
This little girl has my heart. As does just about every other child with HIV!! I love the link :D
ReplyDeleteI'm with you.. They are so precious and their rejection by some societies and people is heartbreaking.
