Paperwork....DONE...well my part anyway.

Well my deadline was a week ago to have my things done and I missed it by a week. But Thank You Jesus my paperwork is done, notarized and waiting to be apostilled. We mailed the first documents to Eastern Europe today....the mailing price was crazy but I'm so happy that is done.
Now we wait. We are waiting on the homestudy and the fingerprinting appt. There a few more things that need redone but they will get redone in person when we go to Des Moines to get our fingerprints done. If you are following this to help you in your adoption paperwork I would suggest doing whatever you can in person. I have had to have 3 sets of documents redone because of mistakes that I could have caught had I been there.

We are going to take a one week break and then start the fundraising part of our adoption. I have a few ideas from other adoption blogs I follow but if anyone has a great idea I would love to hear it.

Two blogs that I follow got some ugly comments this week regarding a child with Down Syndrome. I think you must be a filled with a lot of ugliness to seek out blogs and write ugly remarks about orphans. I might be biased but I think God made kids with Down Syndrome just a little bit cuter then the rest of us. You don't have to agree, it is totally my opinion but I LOVE their eyes and smiles. Maybe it's the joy it puts in my heart knowing God blessed me with my own little guy with DS. Look at this sweetie below. Doesn't he just melt your heart?

Artem T. 14G

azbv -14

Date of Birth: January 2008
Gender: Male
Eyes: Gray
Hair: brown
Nature: Quiet

SINGLE MOMS WELCOME!

LOTS MORE PICS AVAILABLE

From a missionary who visited with him recently: SWEETY SWEETY SWEETY! Look at photos, what an amazing progress he made! For now little Artem is weak and less developed than kids at his age. But Artem has hidden ability to speak: he can repeat parts of words for long time and always includes into his speach some new sounds! This is a special kid that needs additional care and attention. He needs to become strong and gather all things that he has been taught by caregivers, but soon he will learn everything which is needed for his age and he will blossom.

  1. How silly and sad is it that someone will actively seek out blogs about DS to be negative? They must really need a hug or something! I absolutely adore the kids I know with DS and I feel so lucky to have them in my life!

  3. I agree that that extra chromosome makes them extra cute! That is why you can't just have one :) Maybe we will see you in Des Moines getting fingerprinted. We are about in the same place with paperwork.
