Those words are hard to say since there are just so many kids that I have a heart for on Reece's Rainbow. These two though are constantly in my thoughts these days. What is holding someone back from the blessing of one of these girls being their daughter? What could possibly matter more then giving one of these precious children a home? They don't need perfect parents...they just need parents!!

I can't wait to see Victoria with long, flowing hair!
Miss Victoria was born arthrogryposis, which only appears to affect her legs/feet. She has a glowing personality and is a caregiver favorite. Will be wonderful to see her, after surgery and therapy, walking on her own!! If she is not adopted, she will spend the rest of her life bedridden.
From her medical records: congenital arthrogryposis, divergent squint.
From our facilitator: Victoria is happy and affectionate. She loves to play with her dolls and to pretend to be mommy. She is a very pretty girl. She is a rather smart girl, the care-givers love her. She cannot support herself and needs assistance. She does not walk but she is a very active girl. She is moving herself somehow, using mostly her hands.
As with all children living in these difficult conditions, this child's cognitive development has regressed significantly since he/she was younger. It is of crucial importance that any family considering the adoption of an older child from the mental institution setting be well prepared for what to expect with regards to how the neglect and lack of adequate medical care and nourishment has affected this child. These children all have TREMENDOUS potential for improvement, and deserve to have a life outside these four walls.
These children are truly living on borrowed time, and
families should be home study approved before an official commitment can be made for this child.

Laurel has arthrogryposis — and look at that beautiful smile!
She’s already 15 years old, and has less than 6 months (from January 2012) to be adopted, or she loses all hope for a future.
Laurel is blessed to be in a very good older child orphanage for those with mostly physical disabilities. Her orphanage has been supported by many humanitarian aid groups, and offers child sponsorship programs and trips for these children. Laurel does face transfer to an adult mental institution SOON, and at 16 she will no longer legally be able to be adopted at all. We simply can not let this happen to her.
Our facilitation team has met Laurel…she is very smart and friendly, and she SO wants a family of her own. Laurel is in a region which often waives the 10 day waiting period!
An additional $3000 grant is available to help with Laurel’s adoption (above and beyond her RR funds)
Larger families and older parents welcome. Must be home study approved to commit.
$7577.31 is available towards the cost of my adoption!
