True Value....a special girl...and a dollar

So this is the blog post I've rattled around in my head for awhile. Not that I have any spectacular words from all that. I just don't know exactly how to combine a fundraiser and a you are valuable campaign. We need a little less then $4,000.00 to help us with our adoption of Alexis. So many people have been so generous to help us first with Judah and now with Alexis. We are truly thankful for every donation and honestly hate to ask but we are committed to go get our daughter. So this is our need. My idea though is this:

My daughter doesn't think she is very special. http://arthrogryposisadoption.blogspot.com/2012/05/our-time-with-alexis.html written by a friend of mine who has met Alexis. Another family that met her years ago told me that they had advocated for Alexis a family for the past 4 years. During this time Alexis was told that a family would come for her. Noone did! She thinks the problem is her. My beautiful, created perfectly by God, daughter, does not see her value!!! This breaks my heart BUT I have a plan and I hope you will help me.

I am asking for 4,000 people to send my daughter two things. First a card, letter, picture, note...anything like that to tell her how special she is! You can use Bible verses, your own words, your childrens drawings, whatever way you want to communicate to her that the world cares about her! Secondly put a dollar in the envelope.  Okay I just thought of a third thing....tell others! I need 4,000 letters and 4,000 dollars! I will take pictures and post the progress. I'm really excited  thinking about her coming home to her room and seeing all those cards and letters for her! And telling her how so many people cared so much for her that they helped to bring her home!

I will post everyday that I receive something to update you...even if I'm super busy :)

See no amazing words but I do hope you agree that she is special and will take the time to tell her so!!

  1. She is beautiful and I can't wait until you bring her home so she knows exactly how beautiful, loved and special she is. Does she know yet she is getting a family or do they have to wait until you are there to tell her? Breaks my heart to think that she doesn't think anyone wants her :(
