Working on walking.
We are on set two of serial casts that will straighten Sasha's feet. I'm thinking it will take 10 - 15 casts to get her feet straight. Toward the end of that she will have tendon releases on her feet and toes...can you say ouch? :( then a few more casts and we move on to braces. We will probably be in this stage for a year while we await a surgery spot. Sasha will need at least two seperate major surgeries to release the contractions in her hips and knees. In the meantime we are to work on her standing and possibly crawling. This is the process that will get her walking and she is already doing much better with the casting although the actual casting is still traumatic for her the day after she was back to her happy self. This is quite the process for all of us with travel and many sacrifices happening. However, our gracious God has blessed us abundantly through this. We were blessed with an unexpected check to cover travel expenses and safe easy travel. When we stopped to eat, some kind Christians bought our meal....all seven of us! We got a room at Ronald McDonald house which means it is only costing us 15 dollars a night for lodging and every night someone has cooked dinner for all of us. Usually it is a church group that comes in but sometimes businesses bring a meal. I really don't know how we could have done all this ourselves but God prepared the way! I'm never surprised at what our abundant God gives us but I am truly grateful. Thanks to so many friends praying for Sasha and our family we feel covered by your prayers!
