That is how much Americans spend on pet costumes. (thanks for the info mom) Nothing wrong with pet costumes. They are probably a pretty funny thing and make people happy to see a dog wearing a goofy costume.
But...
How many children would 300 million save? Do we have to give up everything to save children? Or to help people in whatever way God has lead us...digging wells for water, caring for the elderly, feeding your neighbor. I can't answer that. I tend to not do without too much so in my life I'm certainly not an example of extreme sacrifice. But somehow that 300 million a year on pet costumes bothers me. I guess it's a good thing I don't see how much Americans spend a year on chocolate.

Agree! My girls and always talk about things like this. We will watch a show or hear of someone spending thousands on some silly material thing and talk about how many orphans that would help. It is very sad.
