Christians

Where to start...I'm not sure how this post is going to go. I'm sure there will be many run on sentences and lots of rambling. But I have to write it now without really thinking about it because my head and my heart are full.

We had our fundraiser tonight. Let's start with a 12 year old girl name Ashtin, her mom and her sister Mckayla (sorry for any misspells) They organized an amazing bake sell, got lots of donations from local businesses, arranged a silent auction, helped with setting up and fed and took care of my baby while I was getting ready. This is the heart of an amazing family who know what storing up eternal treasures looks like.

Barb, my online adoption friend, and her family and friends drove over 2 hours to show us support.
The Schmidt family, the Hartzler family, the Cechota family, the Langholz family, the Smith family and the Barta family all came to help set up, cook, serve, clean up, educate about adoption and down syndrome, and so much more. My friend and neighbor Marilyn came to help at the door and then .....

People came. People encouraged us. People gave to us. What kind of people? CHRISTIANS

Why does that matter? It matters to me. I hear so many negative things about Christians and again I just don't get it. It was Christians that gave up their Sunday night to help and support us. It was Christians that gave us money that took from their family budget. It was Christians that once again make me glad that I'm one of them. Not because of the worldly things they do but because of the eternal things they are doing. Not in or of themselves but because Jesus Christ lives in them and when I get to see that expressed toward me I can't even begin to describe how overwhelmed I am right now.

If you are reading this and you don't know Jesus Christ as your savior I implore you to cry out to Him to open your eyes and heart to Him. There is nothing that compares to Him. When I am so richly blessed I am truly thankful to all the wonderful people that have blessed me but I know it is not them but Christ in them from which the blessings come. Jesus came to our fundraiser tonight. He arranged a bake sale and silent auction. He cooked and cleaned and served. He drove 2 1/2 hours to support us. He gave abundantly to us. We would have nothing if it weren't for Him but because of Him we have everything.

Thank you friends and thank you Lord. May Mercy, Peace and Love be Multiplied to you.

It was a beautiful evening.... I've been weepy all day.... just so blessed to be able to be a part of the journey. So overwhelmed with God's plans for our lives. And so broken hearted for the orphans, I think I spent so much time going through pictures preparing the RR table and the booklets...... that today i weep for them.
